BSC News June 2017

Hello all,

In the May newsletter I was talking about the lovely warm weather we were having, looks like I spoke too soon. So far two of the sailing events have been cancelled. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for an improvement.

The next event at the BSC is the annual RNLI day on Sunday 9th July. I am sure everyone is familiar with this excellent day, look out for the poster in the clubhouse.

I will send out the flyer as soon as I have it.

The BBQ on 17th June was cancelled due to a lack of tickets being sold. That was a shame; the BSC BBQ team were all ready to flip some burgers. If you have an idea for a social event why not let a member of the social committee know (names in the diary) or mail Dave Wilcox. Dave asked for your views back in February / March and I think it is worth putting his note in here again –

One of the three objectives of our Club is to provide members with opportunities for social intercourse. To this end your Committee arranges several social events throughout the year. Over the last few years attendance at these events has reduced to a level where the Committee has been obliged to cancel several events due to lack of interest.

If we are to provide successful events then they must be the type of event members enjoy and therefore will attend.

Do you prefer disco with buffet, quiz events, murder mystery, race nights, something other than the above, or perhaps no events at all.

Would you please take a few minutes to send me an e-mail with your thoughts, to the address below?

Many thanks, Dave Wilcox, Commodore.
