Blundellsands Sailing Club

RNLI Day 17 th July 2022

Start 12.30pm lifeboats arrive between 13.00pm - 14.00pm

As you may be aware for years our club has supported the fantastic work that the

RNLI provide all over the UK. It has been a long-standing tradition that we hold a
special day to raise much needed funds.
This year due to covid and some unfortunate changes to the local RNLI membership
we are in the position where we need to organize the event in house.
Please can I request a small donation from any member who wish to contribute, to
be included in the tombola and raffle, held on the day.
Any donations can be handed in to Julie at the bar or if you contact myself, or I can
arrange collection
Likewise, if any member wants to set up a stall or who knows someone who would
like to set up a stall on the day, again a small contribution from any profit would very
much appreciate, all are welcome to take part not just our members.
Hopefully we will have a fantastic day and raise lots of money for a worthy cause,
one more ask if anyone can please help on the day it would be appreciated.
We have confirmation that the RNLI will be attending sailing over from New Brighton.

Thanks Ray

The Club will be open on Thursday 2nd June to celebrate our Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The Bar will be open from 5PM with the BBQ starting at around 6:45PM
I have spoken to Chris and there will be a vegetarian option.
We will be lighting the beacon on the night at 9:45PM to coincide with the rest of the country.
The Boatshed bar will be open again selling cans of cider, beer & soft drinks, but it's cash only so please bring cash on the day. You can still use a card at the bar.

Many Thanks to the ladies of the Social Committee for setting out and prepping for this event, especially Sue and Christine who attended on the night to put out the cheeseboards and sell the raffle tickets. The proceeds of the raffle will go to one of the Ukraine refugee funds.

It was a very enjoyable evening.  Directed and produced by Chris Williams.

Dear All

We are hosting the Hoylake and Deeside sailing clubs on Saturday the 28th of May 2022 for their traditional River Alt Raid where they sail over a fleet of dinghies to join us for the day/ night and sail back the next day. Chris Williams has kindly organised a fish and chip supper with a singer for the Saturday night and the bar will be open from 1 pm on the Saturday as well, it would be good to get as many members as possible to meet and host our visitors and tickets for the night including fish and chips and entertainment are now available at £10 per head, if you would like to come please contact me and I will keep Chris updated as we have limited numbers, also feel free to come down to the club during the day on the Saturday to say hello and a few of us will be sailing out to meet them as well, cheers Rohan
